Blue or Green?

So after 2.5 years, I'm on the downhill stretch of finally getting curtains for the living room. I found them at Target of all places (first place I looked actually).

I bought a sample of each color from Target and had a mini curtain fashion show (a fantastic idea totally stolen from This Young House, thanks!) I just have to pick a color. It's definitely the blue ones, right?

I must admit that it kills me a little to pick the blue ones, because the boy said the blue ones were better from the very beginning and he'll never let me live it down. I was SURE I'd prefer the green, cause I have that green elsewhere in the room and like it. But the green curtains just don't have provide enough contrast. Drat! Now I have to go pillow shopping... although the boy volunteered to sew some. I don't know if I can handle it if it turns out he can sew and I can't.

Also, anyone know where to get cheap curtain rings? They really do make a big difference, but I need a LOT of them.

  1. Ikea or Home depot for curtain rings.
And I actually like the green ones. Do you WANT more contrast? I think curtains, for the most part, shouldn't jump up and yell at you, "Look, I'm here." unless they're your focal point, or something. The green is quite serene.

  2. I was going to say green, because it seemed to match your wall more than the blue... but, that blue looks really really gorgeous against the wall color, it almost picks up a hint of blue/green in it. So I'd have to say the blue.

And if the boy gives you hell for it just say "see, I knew you weren't COMPLETELY hopeless." Teehee :)

Oh, and Target has the clippy curtain rings, 10 for $5.99.

  3. Thanks for visiting Alana.

Sparkle - Yeah, the blue ones got me too. Good quip for the boy, I'll have to remember that.

Big reveal coming soon. I'm trying to save it until living room week, but I don't know if I can wait that long. Besides, getting new curtains was my big accomplishment last week!
